My court case has been dismissed, can it be reopened?

What type of case are you referring to?

Civil cases to include: Family, Circuit (including foreclosures), Small Claims, County Court, Probate & Guardianship.

If the case has been dismissed for more than 90 days, you may pay $50 to re-open and motion the court to set aside the dismissal. The case is not reopened as active until a court order is entered granting the motion.

If the case has been dismissed less than 90 days, you may file the motion to set aside the dismissal without the $50 re-open fee.  The case is not reopened as active until a court order is entered granting the motion.

Dependency cases: A new petition will need to be filed and the prior case cannot be reopened.
