Florida House Bill 621 / Florida statute 82.036, effective July 1, 2024:

  • Applies to residential dwellings only
  • Not filed with the Clerk
  • “squatters” which do not have a lease or legal authority to dwell in residence. Does not apply if lease or agreement exists between owner and persons dwelling in residence. 
  • Must contact the OCSO - Not filed by Clerk - Can be done by owner or authorized agent for owner. 
  • Limited alternative remedy to remove unauthorized persons from residential real property.
