A Situs Designation Form is used in Okaloosa County to select which part of the county will hold jurisdiction over your case.

Situs location is determined as per Administrative Directive 2009-08

  • Crestview Courthouse - if:
    • The cause of action occurred North of the Eglin Field #3 (Duke Field) entrance to Highway 85; or
    • The cause of action did not occur in Okaloosa County, but the sole defendant/respondent resides, at the time the suit was filed, North of the Eglin Field #3 (Duke Field) entrance to Highway 85.
  • Courthouse Annex - Fort Walton Beach if:
    • The cause of action occurred South of Eglin Field #3 (Duke Field) entrance to Highway 85; or
    • The cause of action did not occur in Okaloosa county, but the sole defendant/respondent resides, at the tie that suit was filed, South of the Eglin Field #3 (Duke Field) entrance to Highway 85.
  • Either Courthouse (Crestview) or Courthouse Annex (Fort Walton) depending upon where the suit is filed if:
    • The cause of action did not occur in Okaloosa County and no defendant/respondent resides in Okaloosa County; or
    • The cause of action did not occur in Okaloosa County, there is more than one defendant/respondent that resides in both areas of the county.
