I missed my court date yesterday, can I come today? What will happen if I fail to appear for criminal court?

You may file a written request into your court case after which instructions will be provided to you.

If you have missed your court date, you may not show up to court the next day as your case is not on the scheduled docket.

FAILURE TO APPEAR CRIMINAL COURT

If you fail to appear at any scheduled court event the Judge can order a bench warrant for your arrest.  The Judge that signs the bench warrant will decide if a bond amount is to be set, or to specify that you are to be held in jail and prohibited from bonding out.The clerk's office cannot confirm if a capias or warrant has been issued.  If you have an attorney you should contact him or her, if you do not have an attorney you may file a request to have your hearing rescheduled and to recall any potential capias.
