What is a Writ of Certiorari?

A Writ of Certiorari is typically filed when a person's driver license has been suspended and a hearing has been held with Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) upholding the suspension.

If you wish to appeal the ruling of the hearing held at the DMV a Writ of Certiorari is the correct format to accomplish this.

The case is established as a new Civil Action (CA) and the filing fee is $400. The clerk's office does not have pro se forms for a Writ of Certiorari and recommend you seek the advice of an attorney.

Pro se filers (not represented by an attorney), may file in paper form or via the Florida E-filing portal.
