How much does it cost to file an appeal? How do I file an appeal?

Effective 1/1/20 most county court cases are appealed to the District Court. Some exceptions apply.  Please research Florida Statutes to ensure you are appealing to the correct court. The filing fee on a county court case that is appealed to the circuit court is $281.00.

To file from Circuit or County Court to the District Court (CA, DR, CF & CJ) the filing fee is $100.00 (certified funds, no personal checks) to the Okaloosa County Clerk of Court and $300.00 (personal checks accepted) to the district court, which may be submitted directly to the district court at:

The Honorable Kristina Samuels Clerk of District Court of Appeal

2000 Drayton Dr. Tallahassee FL 32399-0950

The clerk's office does not have paperwork available for appeals - you may research Florida Rules of Appellate procedure.

DP cases are appealed to the District Court, however there are no fees assessed.
